Veil Care: The Saint Claremont Guide
A veil is not simply worn—it’s held, carried, and remembered. Here’s how to keep yours airy, luminous, and flawless from first unboxing to the last photograph.
Unboxing
-
Touch with clean, dry hands.
-
Lift by the comb, never the edge.
-
Hang immediately and let it fall for 30–60 minutes to release soft folds.
Storage
Best: hang in a breathable garment bag in a cool, dry space, away from sunlight.
If folding: layer with acid-free tissue, fold loosely, store in a clean box.
Keep it away from: Velcro, zips, sequins, hooks, jewellery.
Wrinkles & Relaxing the Tulle
Preferred: steam on low, from 15–20 cm away, in slow downward passes while the veil hangs.
Zero-risk: hang for 24–48 hours and let gravity do the work.
Never: press heat directly onto tulle.
Wedding Day Handling
-
Travel with the veil hanging if possible.
-
If laying flat, place it on top of everything.
-
Hang it first on arrival for an effortless refresh.
Beauty Products
Veil goes on last—after hair and makeup. Avoid spraying fragrance, hairspray, or setting spray near the tulle.
Snags (Stay Calm)
If it catches, don’t pull. Gently backtrack the snag. If a thread lifts, don’t cut—lay it flat and assess in good light.
After “I Do”
Air it out away from light, then store hanging or boxed with acid-free tissue. For marks, use a bridal specialist familiar with delicate tulle.
